About Us

Norwich Regional Adult Education offers state-mandated programs to residents of Norwich, Bozrah, East Lyme, Franklin, Ledyard, Lisbon, North Stonington, Preston, Salem, Sprague, Stonington, and Voluntown who are age 17 & older and no longer enrolled in public school.

Our programs include Adult Basic Education, High School Credit Diploma, Daytime and Nighttime GED, the National External Diploma Program, ESL, and Citizenship Prep classes. We also offer our Credit Diploma, ESL, GED, and Citizenship classes at our sister sites, East Lyme High School and Stonington High School. Our programs offer students the chance to improve basic skills, speak English, or earn a high school diploma; all free of charge to residents of Norwich and the Cooperative towns.

Whether you’re in an established career or just getting started in the workforce, Norwich Regional Adult Education has courses in workforce preparation to ensure your skills are sharpened as you progress through career moves. Our Adult Basic Education program provides students the opportunity to take a career inventory to see where their career options are as they build their skills. Our Career Developer, Daniel Urtz, is on site at Norwich Regional Adult Education to meet with students at any point in their career journey.

Norwich Regional Adult Education offers a catalog of Continuing Education and Enrichment courses, at cost, for residents interested in either learning new skills or refreshing previously learned abilities. Past offerings have included “East Coast Swing”, “Culinary”, and “Computer Basics.”
