Since 1970, OIC of New London County, Inc. (OIC) has provided training, vocational counseling and job placement assistance for economically disadvantaged adults. The free programs offered by OIC are available to low-income, low-skilled New London County residents. Since 1997, OIC has also provided Community Justice services through our ''Stopping Domestic Violence'' program and our ex-offender program, ''Project Employment.'' OIC works to help each participant develop realistic goals and to give them effective tools and strategies to meet those goals. OIC has linkages with many other service provider agencies, ensuring a strong safety net for our clients. No other agency in southeastern Connecticut provides a similar whole-person approach to addressing the self-sufficiency needs of the unemployed and underemployed individual.
OIC's staff and Board of Directors are consistently focused on identifying opportunities for new programs and services as well as creative ways in which our organization can partner and collaborate with other agencies to stretch limited resources and meet ever-increasing needs. With this in mind, OIC strives to say ''Yes'' when others have said ''No.''
