Business Express Profile: NASKART

Rising up from the wooded hillsides of Southeastern Connecticut, the 110,000 square-foot NASKART facility in Montville offers all the need-for-speed thrills and excitement you would expect from the largest indoor multi-level go-kart track in world.

With state-of-the-art electric-powered karts screaming around the track, it’s easy to forget about the outside world for a while.
The NASKART facility provides a unique and memorable setting for corporate meetings and teambuilding events. Cody Browning, general manager of NASKART, described the concept, the business model and how their tracks, trampolines and indoor playing fields combine to make group and team building events “a real experience.”.

Q: Interesting idea – where the idea of NASKART originate?
A: NASKART went from a cocktail napkin concept to opening day in 11 months thanks to an amazing leadership team and the drive to get things done. The private ownership group, who lives locally, was visiting a similar concept in Florida and thought, “Connecticut needs something like this for businesses and families.” They jotted down some ideas on a napkin while sitting inside that same go-kart facility and 11 months later we opened the doors of NASKART.

Q: What are the unique characteristics of this business among others in the industry?
A: We wanted to take what was great about other indoor karting arenas and add that extra flair to make it absolutely amazing. We believe we’ve done just that by offering the World’s Largest Indoor Multi-level go kart tracks. By building an open concept building we removed all support columns, allowing us the freedom to build the ultimate raceway without the restrictions other facilities face. We offer climate controlled entertainment so you stay cool in the summer heat, and warm in the winter while having fun. All electric karts mean no fumes and it’s environmentally friendly. We didn’t just stop once we built the ultimate driving environment for all to enjoy. By offering food and a full bar, NASKART has it all.

Q: Please describe your new, fast growing business model?
A: By keeping our operating costs within budget and by offering such a unique concept that speeds past other entertainment options we are able to have a concept that promotes growth. We have plans for expansion in the works, locations to be announced in the months ahead.

Q: How is this business model unique?
A: Our business model is unique because it is a one stop shop for fun for the whole family. As a company we can’t restrict who we invite to NASKART for a fun time so we have to have something for everyone. From corporate clients using our conference suite, small businesses having a company outing for team building, or friends and family just out for a fun time NASKART has the ability to adjust to meet their needs. We have a philosophy that starts at the top of “keep it simple”.

Q: How does NASKART compliment the Eastern Connecticut’s multi-faceted, regional tourism offerings?
A: NASKART has received such a warm welcome from the community. We couldn’t be happier than with our choice of Eastern Connecticut. The city has been gracious and we’ve seen so much support from other locally own businesses and the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. We are so proud to be locally owned and operated and every day we are looking forward to the future.

Q: Teambuilding and corporate outings. Please describe why NASKART is the perfect location for corporate teambuilding events.
A: There is nothing like NASKART anywhere in the world, let alone here locally. We offer team building through our race tracks and who doesn’t love playing dodgeball with the boss? When we host a private party for a company we set them up in our conference room so they have an isolated space for their meeting and business matters. Afterwards they roll up their sleeves for some intense fun in Connecticut’s premier recreational venue. With our tracks accommodating groups up to 16 per race we fit everyone out on the tracks for the ultimate driving experience. Everyone wants to beat their boss, and it is so much fun offering a venue where everyone can share in a safe competition. Afterwards they gather in our full service bar for a cold beer to compare race times and claim bragging rights in the office for weeks to come.

The Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce will host a “Business After Hours at NASKART” networking event on October 4 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This event will be hosted in cooperation with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce. For more information, please visit: here.
