Chamber Announces Young Professionals of the Year

Waterford, CT The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is proud to announce the recipients of its Young Professionals of the Year awards.  This year’s awards will be given during the Young Professionals of the Year Banquet, held Fri., Jan. 30 at Latitude 41 in Mystic.

Young Professionals of the Year are Kayla Castronova, Alex Hau, and Amy Munoz.  They will be celebrated alongside incoming Young Professionals incoming Chairperson Meagan Seacor and PROP Champion Nisha Parekh.

Awarded to Young Professionals of Eastern CT (YPECT) members who display leadership, a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference in eastern CT through their work and community activities, the Young Professionals of the Year awards are bestowed as part of the YPECT program, a division of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT which provides networking, professional development, and civic engagement opportunities for young adults in the region.

The PROPS (ProPoints) award is given to a particularly engaged YPECT member who has demonstrated a commitment to YPECT including planning and attending YPSocial events, referring new YPECT members, taking advantage of volunteer opportunities, and staying engaged with YPECT on its social media networks.

“We’re very proud of these young leaders,” said Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber.  “These individuals work hard for eastern Connecticut and demonstrate the best of the YP program. Their recognition Friday evening is well deserved.”

YPECT celebrates its fourth year in 2015.  Since its establishment in 2011, the program has created a platform that provides young professionals in eastern Connecticut with opportunities to build professional networks, social relationships, and engage in volunteer activities that improve the economic vitality and quality of life in eastern CT.
