Chamber Foundation Announces 2017 Grants Available

Eastern CT – The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation announced that grant applications are available for eastern CT non-profits and charities that benefit local children and families. Applications are available online from www.ChamberECT.com/foundation or by calling the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut office at (860) 701-9113.
 
The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises funds for local children in need through annual events including the Chamber Foundation Bowl-a-Thon and the Chamber Foundation’s Holiday Gala, which raised over $108,000 at its 33rd gala on December 9, 2016.
 
Since 2002, the Chamber Foundation has donated over $1 million to numerous local organizations that serve the needs of children, specifically groups that address the Foundation’s goal of funding projects which enhance and enrich education and economic opportunities for children and families in the Chamber’s service area. 
 
Lou Ziegler, the Foundation’s Board Chair, acknowledged the community for their continued support of the Chamber Foundation’s annual events. 
 
Ziegler noted, “These events would not be possible without the tremendous support from our planning committee, dedication of our volunteers, generosity of our sponsors and commitment from the Chamber staff. We are also grateful for the hospitality and support of our friends at the Mohegan Tribe and Mohegan Sun, and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and Foxwoods Resort Casino.”
 
In the coming weeks, the Foundation committee will meet to review grant applications from eligible children-oriented non-profit groups in order to distribute funds raised from the Holiday Gala, Bowl-a-Thon, and other events held in the past year. 
 
Grant applications are available for download at www.ChamberECT.com/foundation. The deadline for submission is February 10, 2017.  The Foundation expects to make distributions to the awarded grantees in the spring with an announcement at the Chamber office in Waterford.
 
The Chamber Foundation’s 6th Annual Bowl-a-Thon will be held at High Roller Luxury Lanes at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Teams of four are invited to register; sponsorships are available. Learn more online at www.ChamberECT.com/bowl or call (860) 701-9113.
