Chamber to Participate in Tourism Advocacy Day April 24 in Hartford

Eastern CT – The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut has announced its participation in Tourism Advocacy Day on April 24 in Hartford. The event is hosted by the Connecticut Tourism Coalition and will begin at 10 am in the Old Judiciary Room in the State Capitol building. Participants will attend meetings with House and Senate leaders and their individual representatives to lobby on behalf of tourism in Connecticut.

“Tourism supports tens of thousands of jobs in our state,” said Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut. “We believe it is important that legislators hear directly from those impacted by cuts to the tourism budget.”

Joshua’s Limousine Service will provide a coach bus which will pick participants up from the Waterford Crystal Mall at 8:30 a.m. They will return at approximately 2 p.m.

Tourism industry workers such as chefs, wait staff and those in hospitality are encouraged to come in uniform and ride up with the Chamber of Commerce to Hartford.
