Charter Oak Donates $10,000 to Ocean Community YMCA

Waterford, CT – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union provided a $10,000 grant to the Ocean Community YMCA’s Mystic Branch on September 30th.

The donation will be disbursed in $2,000 increments over the course of the next five years, and will be allocated towards upcoming expenses associated with renovations at the Mystic Branch. The proposed renovation will transform the existing 27,746-square-foot building into a 40,000-square-foot complex featuring a community room, teen center, gymnasium, pool, child watch center, spinning room and much more.

The Ocean Community YMCA strives to improve the community’s health and well-being, and offers a variety of programs geared towards children, and adults of all ages. Membership prices vary, and financial assistance is offered to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Currently, the Mystic Branch serves 8,415 people annually, and provided 875 people with financial assistance in 2015.
