United Community & Family Services (UCFS) received a $1,000 grant from Charter Oak Federal Credit Union. Funding will be used to purchase dental kits for diabetic, hypertensive, and behavioral health clients of UCFS’s Griswold and Plainfield Health Centers. Clients with these diagnoses are at higher risk for oral health disease which is also linked to higher rates of heart attack. Preventative dental services are available at UCFS’s Griswold and Norwich locations, and include oral health examinations, simple dental extractions, and oral health prophylaxis. UCFS is working hard to improve the health and well-being of the community. They provide care to all clients, regardless of their ability to pay with insurance or without insurance.
