Chelsea Groton Foundation Gives $1,000 to People with Intellectual Disabilities for Vocational Training

Norwich, CT – Chelsea Groton Foundation awarded $1,000 to The Arc New London County for the purchase of a Troy-Bilt Horse Garden Tiller to support The Arc Farmstand and community agriculture project in Ledyard.

The Arc Farmstand provides on-the-job vocational training for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the areas of retail, farming and distribution. This project also provides a way for neighbors in the community to buy local, seasonal, fresh produce locally while people with I/DD learn job skills critical to full inclusion and optimal independence.
