Chelsea Groton Bank Promotes Four

Groton, CT – Chelsea Groton Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of four employees, following a Board of Trustees meeting.

The following team members received promotions:
 
Kate Alves of Groton, CT, Credit Department Manager, has been promoted to Vice President.  Kate joined Chelsea Groton in 2005 and worked in Loan Servicing and Risk Management before moving to the Commercial Credit department in 2008 as a Junior Credit Analyst. Today she manages a staff of three and is responsible for ensuring the accurate underwriting of all commercial loan requests. Kate graduated from Merrimack College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She is a 2008 graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management and a 2011 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program.  Kate is the recipient of the 2012 Chelsea Award, 2013 40 Under Forty Award, and 2015 New Leader in Banking Award.
 
Sarah Dion of Oakdale, CT, Senior Auditor, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.  Sarah joined the Bank 22 years ago as a part-time teller and progressed through a variety of positions including Head Teller, Training Instructor, Risk Management Specialist, and Auditor. She is a 2008 graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management and received the John C. Shortell Award for Academic Excellence. Sarah has been involved for many years with the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge as well as the Little T Quarter Midget Club.
 
Max Spelman of Pawcatuck, CT, Deposit Operations Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.  Max joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2015 as a Risk Management and Compliance Specialist. Prior to joining Chelsea Groton, Max had over five years of experience at The Washington Trust Company and People’s United Bank.  He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Haven.
 
Jennifer Eastbourne of Ledyard, CT, Financial Services Program Coordinator, Chelsea Groton Financial Services; Financial Services Associate, Infinex Investments, Inc., has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Jennifer joined the Bank in 2013 as a Financial Services Associate with over ten years of financial services experience. She is a graduate of Westfield State College and holds Series 7, 66, and Life, Accident and Health insurance licenses. Jennifer is a 2015 Chelsea Award recipient and a graduate of the 2016 Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program. For the past five years, she has been on the planning committee for the March of Dimes Mystic March for Babies. She also serves as the membership chair for Friends of the Ledyard Library.
