Chelsea Groton Bank Recognizes 5 Employees for Outstanding Contributions

Groton, CT – Chelsea Groton Bank recently recognized five employees for outstanding contributions to the Bank and community. Jennifer Eastbourne of Ledyard, CT, Financial Services Program Coordinator; Becky Jacoinski of Westerly, RI, Benefits and Wellness Administrator; Lisa Price of Westerly, RI, Retail Lending Administrator; and Bonnie Stanford of Groton, CT, Assistant Branch Manager of the Bank’s Niantic location were presented with the Chelsea Award. The George Strouse “Spirit” Award was presented to Denise Stapienski of Oakdale, CT, AVP, Training Manager.

“The foundation of a community bank is built on customer service and community involvement,” said Michael Rauh, President and CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank. “These individuals have been chosen by their peers for representing everything Chelsea Groton strives to be – dedicated, positive, and willing to go above and beyond for all. I couldn’t be more proud of them, and the entire team at Chelsea Groton.”

The Chelsea Award is presented each year to individuals with exceptional performance in the areas of sales, initiative and customer service. Jennifer was selected for her commitment to the Chelsea Groton Financial Services program. Through a handful of staffing changes, Jen’s dedication to her job ensured the transitions felt seamless, and clients echoed their appreciation for Jen’s can-do attitude and attention to their needs. Becky was recognized for sharing her passion of wellness and healthy living with colleagues. She was instrumental in developing and implementing the Chelsea Groton Wellness program, managing the CFit Wellness Team, coordinating with Total Well-Being, and encouraging employees to be well – physically, emotionally and financially.

Lisa’s willingness to adapt to the changing needs and procedures of the retail lending department with a positive attitude and awareness of the urgent nature of loan deliveries, as well as her commitment to the Chelsea Activity Team and CFit Wellness Team, is what earned her a nomination. Bonnie was nominated because of the cheerful way she interacts with customers and colleagues each and every day, and her willingness to lend a hand, mentor team members or spend a little extra time making sure her customers have exactly what they need to be successful.

The George Strouse “Spirit” Award, which pays tribute to George Strouse, former Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Trustees, is presented annually to employees who embody, and consistently demonstrate, the values and spirit of Chelsea Groton Bank through leadership, attitude and community service. Denise was recognized for developing and delivering the Chelsea Professional Manager Series, an 18-month training program. Denise developed the curriculum, executed 19 classes, and graduated the inaugural class of 48 managers in September. In addition, she continues to be a resource for all training and development needs for all employees. A dedicated employee of Chelsea Groton for the last 25 years, Denise serves on many of the Bank’s committees, including Information Technology, Compliance, and the Right Way employee education program committee. She has also been instrumental in bringing the principles learned from the Disney Institute and incorporating them into multiple aspects of the Bank.

Each recipient was nominated by colleagues who felt the honorees exemplified the core values of the Bank – service, excellence, honesty, confidentiality, stability and teamwork - in addition to the other award criteria.
