Chelsea Groton Donates over $32,000 through Kind Acts Program

GROTON, Conn. – For Chelsea Groton, it’s all about investing in our community, so in celebration of the bank’s 160th anniversary, Chelsea Groton employees completed kind acts throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island by directing $160 each to a charitable cause or non-profit organization of their choosing, funded by the bank. A variety of charities have benefited –schools, health services, youth camps, veteran’s organizations and animal shelters.
“It was so interesting to see the breadth of causes our employees are passionate about, ranging from school assemblies to supporting therapeutic riding” explained President and CEO Michael Rauh.   “Knowing that each $160 gift added up to over $32,000 collectively shows how we can take something small and together turn it into something really impactful.  We are very proud of the contributions that each of our employees make, often going above and beyond. For me, this is just one more way for our employees and the bank to help make our corner of the world a better place to be.”
In the spirit of giving, Chelsea Groton employees pledged to do random acts of kindness throughout the holiday season for those in need.  Whether it’s taking an extra shift in the car pool, raking leaves for a neighbor, writing a letter to a soldier serving abroad, volunteering at a soup kitchen, or donating food and clothing, each kind act makes someone’s life a little easier.
To commemorate the 160 Acts of Kindness program, Chelsea Groton  created a video featuring employees and recipients sharing their thoughts about what the kind acts program means to them and how they made a difference. To view the video, visit
