Coast Guard Men's Swimming Sending 7 to Nationals

New London, CT – Coast Guard will send a record 11 swimmers to the NCAA Division III Championships as seven men and four women will represent the Academy in Greensboro, N.C. on March 20-23.
 
The 200 medley relay of senior Patrick Jackson, senior Chasse Sodemann, sophomore Tyler Dominick and junior Joe Rodriguez posted the 10th fastest time in Division III (1:29.74) to earn a spot at the championship.

The 200 freestyle relay of sophomore Dan Jenkins, Rodriguez, Dominick and junior John Pompay had the 11th fastest time (1:21.69).

Rodriguez was invited in the 50 freestyle with the 10th fastest time (20.32) and he will swim in the 100 freestyle as well. He earned honorable mention All-America honors in the event last season. Rodriguez won the NEWMAC championship in the 100 freestyle.

Sophomore Eric Fuhs will compete in the 100 breaststroke as he posted the 13th best time (55.38) after winning the NEWMAC championship in the event for the second straight season. He will also swim in the 200 IM and the 200 breaststroke. Fuhs earned All-America honors in the 200 breaststroke last season with an eighth place finish.

Sodemann earned an invite in the 100 breaststroke with the 15th best time (55.41) and he will also swim the 200 IM and the 200 breaststroke.
