Dime Bank Celebrates Season of Giving with Year End Grants

Norwich, CT – The Dime Bank Foundation has announced that their 2018 philanthropic contributions back to the community has now surpassed $200,000 with their most recent gifting of over $75,000 to twenty-five local charities as part of the Bank’s annual “Season of Giving.” Every year at the holidays, donations are made throughout the community by Dime in an effort to help assure that those in need are cared for in life’s most basic needs – food, warm clothing and shelter.

Among the recipients were Arc of New London County, Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT, the Olean Center, New London Homeless Hospitality Center, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, St. Vincent de Paul Place, United Way of Southeastern CT, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc., The Furniture Bank, Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, Thames River Community Service, and Madonna Place.

“Our tradition of giving back at the holidays is extremely important to our Board of Directors and employees at Dime,” said Nick Caplanson, Dime’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “At a time when there are so many changes occurring in the local banking market, we are proud to be standing strong and able to continue to support our communities in a meaningful way.”

In 2019, Dime Bank will be celebrating its 150th year as a mutual community-based bank. For more information on the Bank’s history and planned events to celebrate their 150th anniversary, please visit dime-bank.com
