Dime Bank Hosts Bacon Academy Students to Promote Financial Literacy

Norwich, CT – Dime Bank recently hosted a group of 25 Bacon Academy students at its Colchester branch to promote financial literacy through Dime Academy-a community education initiative designed to empower our community to manage their financial future. The Academy’s goal is to create long-term relationships with schools in the Bank’s footprint to encourage financial literacy from children to adults.

Bacon Academy students toured the new, high-tech branch while learning about the importance of opening up a bank account, creating a budget and establishing creditworthiness. “Financial literacy has a lasting impact on our students and community. Knowing how to properly manage your money at a young age has tremendous benefit when considering student loan debt, credit card obligations and much more,” said Chuck Maynard, Colchester’s branch manager.

Dime Academy has participated in the Financial Awareness in the Community campaign since 2012. To learn more about collaboration visit dime-bank.com/dimeacademy.
