Dime Foundation Awards $2,000 to New England Science and Sailing

Norwich, CT – The Dime Bank Foundation has awarded $2,000 to New England Science and Sailing (NESS) for their Extended Learning Program for at-risk students from the STEM Magnet Middle School at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School. This adventure STEM education program provides unique learning opportunities such as marine science, adventure sports and sailing lessons using the rich, local marine ecosystem of Long Island Sound.
 
New England Science & Sailing is a year-round ocean adventure program that operates in Stonington, New London and Westerly, RI. Last year NESS engaged 3,200 students in experiential learning to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
