Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank Foundation presented The Arc Eastern Connecticut (formerly The Arc New London County) with a $1,000 grant to support its Community Life & Advocacy (CL&A) program. CL&A’s Empowerment/Enrichment component offers a variety of life skills, work-readiness, self-advocacy and civic responsibility programs to more than 170 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 16 to 86. The Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank Foundation grant will assist with providing dedicated facilitators for these programs. Community Life & Advocacy, which also offers health/fitness and social activities, is the only program of its kind in the region and receives no state or federal support; it relies on community partners like Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank Foundation for its continued operation.Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank Foundation Awards $1,000 to The Arc Eastern Connecticut
