Greater Mystic Tourism Marketing Committee to Host Industry FAM Tour Feb 25

Hospitality industry professionals invited to increase their knowledge of eastern CT arts, cultural, tourism attractions
 
Eastern CT – The Greater Mystic Tourism Marketing Committee is hosting an industry FAM Tour (familiarization tour) of regional art, culture and tourism attractions on Monday, February 25th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Before the tourism season begins, hotel/hospitality and tourism professionals are invited to join the FAM Tour for a fun-filled day featuring behind-the-scenes tours and updates about what’s happening, opening, and changing in 2019.

"Our goal is to help the front line of visitor relations be better prepared to advise guests and make contacts for successful cross-promotions," explains Gary Baker, Director of Sales for the Spa at Norwich Inn and Chairman of the hosting marketing committee. "Who should attend?" concludes Gary —  "Concierge/docents; guest relations teams; front-of-the-house at restaurants/pubs/bars; honestly, anyone who our visitors will turn to for trusted advice."

The FAM Tour is FREE and will be a fast-paced day, visiting eight destinations, with breakfast and lunch included as part of the experience. A comfortable motorcoach, generously donated by Dattco Motorcoach, will transport roundtrip between:

• The Spa at Norwich Inn
• Mystic Seaport
• Mystic Aquarium
• Olde Mistick Village
• Garde Arts Center
• Lyman Allyn Museum
• SuperCharged GoKart Racing
• and Nature’s Art Village

In addition to tours and previews, FAM Tour attendees will be provided an industry "swag bag," featuring literature, giveaways, and cross promotions from a large variety of tourism partners, all designed to educate and engage for a successful 2019 season.

"Seating is comfortable but limited," shares Courtney Assad, Program Coordinator for The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut. "With just a few brief email mentions we are already booking seats. If you want to be in the know for yourself and your property/community, I suggest reserving seats today."

The FAM Tour begins with breakfast and opening remarks at the Spa at Norwich Inn and proceeds from there to visit Mystic destinations. A gourmet boxed lunch will be catered by a team of restaurants from Olde Mistick Village. The day will conclude back at the Spa.
