Help People Suffering with Alzheimer's and Dementia Through Equine Therapy

Stonington, CT – Horses Healing Humans, Inc. is pleased to offer a presentation on the benefits of Equine Therapy for memory care clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia.  Lee Paradis, Executive Director and founder of Horses Healing Humans, Inc., will be speaking on this topic on Tuesday, 3/28/2017.  The lecture and PowerPoint presentation will begin at 6:30 pm and will be followed by a question and answer session.

Equine Therapy provides a rich sensory diet - touch, taste, smell, sight, sound - which helps to trigger memory and speech.  Research studies are showing that Equine Therapy for clients with memory impairments contributes to reduction in aggression and negative behaviors, reduced cortisol levels, improvements in memory, mood, connectedness, language, range of motion, physical activity, balance, socialization, and general well-being and quality of life.

This event is open to the public.  The presentation will take place at Horses Healing Humans in the conference room, which is in the Administration Bldg.  The address is 340 New London Turnpike in Stonington, CT.  The cost of admission is $10 per person.  Light refreshments will be available.  Registration is required.  Contact Horses Healing Humans at HorsesHealingHumansInc@gmail.com or leave a message at 860-572-2942.

The event is part of our Guest Lecturer series, which takes place on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  Please check out our website or Facebook page for information about upcoming lectures.
