Largest Regional Youth Art Exhibit Continues at MMoA

Mystic, CT – The region’s largest annual youth art exhibition, Young at Art returns to Mystic Museum of Art (MMoA). Young at Art showcases creative work from hundreds of regional students ages 18 and younger in MMoA’s galleries. See original artwork in a variety of media from oil, photography, sculpture and mixed media. Individual submissions and group projects range in origin from New London County, Connecticut to much of Rhode Island.

The show runs from March 4 to April 9th. For more information about submissions, visit mysticarts.org. Join us in the galleries for an opening reception on Saturday, March 5th, from 1pm to 3pm.

Award certificates are given for 1st, 2nd 3rd place, honorable mentions and an award for the Lil Maxwell Award for Creativity in three grade categories; K-4, 5-8, and 9-12 with prizes for 2-D and 3-D pieces in each. First place awards include gift certificates towards MMoA art classes sponsored by Dominion and Steamboat Inn and the family of Lil Maxwell.

Young At Art encourages the use of art to advance learning in our region’s schools and is part of MMoA’s commitment to bringing families together in a community space, while fostering creativity.
