Norwich, CT – The Liberty Bank Foundation has awarded $2,500 to The Arc New London County for its newly developed SPARCS (Student Peer Advocates Raising Community Support) program for 20 young men and women ages 16-23 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) living in Southeastern CT. A combination of classroom activities, group sessions, and team building exercises helps students learn critical transition skills, improve communication skills, and advocate for themselves and their peers in high school, on the job, and in postsecondary education settings.
