Mohegan Sun Supports the Physical and Mental Health of Guests as Casino & Resort Reopen for Business

As the Mohegan Tribe has reopened portions of their reservation, including the Mohegan Sun entertainment destination, new safety protocols and operating procedures have been established to protect guests and employees. Working to ensure not only the physical but also the mental health of their guests, Mohegan Sun has recommitted support for the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG), continuing a decades-long partnership. This support comes in the form of annual funding and partial sponsorship of CCPG’s Annual Conference scheduled for October. The funding also helps to support the Problem Gambling Helpline, which offers support around the clock for those seeking help.

CCPG partners with Mohegan Sun to provide information and resources to their players about responsible and problem gambling. Employees are trained to spot the signs of problem gambling and direct players to the appropriate resources.

“We are grateful to Mohegan Sun for their continued support of CCPG and for providing the opportunity to share relevant resources with their patrons and encouraging responsible gaming habits,” Diana Goode, Executive Director of CCPG says. “While most people can gamble safely without any negative repercussions, we estimate that 1-3% of Connecticut residents meet the clinical criteria for disordered gambling, which can be absolutely devastating to individuals and families.”

About the CCPG
The Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) is a non-profit organization focused on preventing problem gambling and helping those who may be impacted. CCPG does not advocate for or against gambling but is committed to working with all stakeholders to help individuals and families dealing with this issue.

CCPG provides Connecticut’s only 24-hour Problem Gambling Helpline, offering support via phone, live online chat, and text. We also implement prevention and education programs serving schools, military and veterans, and priority populations.

If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call the Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-888-789-7777, text CTGAMB to 53342, or visit www.ccpg.org/chat for confidential help.
