Mystic Arts Center Offers September Public Programs

Mystic Arts Center (MAC) public programs continue in September with Craft Bar, Art After Dark and Art of Wine.

On Monday, September 7th from 7 to 8pm, MAC Elected Artist Alison Ives will lead a discussion about how artists translate something as intangible as emotions into visual art at MAC’s new 15 Water Street Gallery for our Art of Wine Series. Owner Stephen Clemente will lead the tastings and discussion featuring various topics around art and wine. The event series will continue on the first Monday of each month through 2015. On Wednesday, September 9th, join us at 5:30pm in the MAC Studios to get creative for happy hour at Craft Bar! Decompress  with art-making, craft beer from Groton’s Outerlight Brewery, wine, and good company. This month we’ll get you ready for fall harvest by decorating terracotta pots. Paint and prep with soil and seeds we provide. Bring your own pot if you can. Member $15 / Public $20, includes beverages and supplies.

On Tuesday, September 15th, from 6 to 8:30pm, Art After Dark continues at Mystic Arts Center with live music by Shiny Lapel Trio and live art by Mystic gallerist and painter, Russ Kramer. This family-friendly Tuesday night summer concert features pizza by Pizzetta, beer by Cottrell, live music, and live art on our riverfront patio. www.shinylapeltrio.com

Art After Dark is designed to integrate various art forms and showcase MAC’s role as a community hub for creative expression and as a platform for regional artists. Tickets are available at the door: $15 (non-members); $12 (members); $3 (children 4-12) Children 0-3 are free. Two hour parking vouchers included.
