Mystic Arts Center Offers Summer ''DIY,'' Craft Workshops

Mystic Arts Center Offers Summer "DIY" and Craft Workshops

Mystic, CT – This summer, Mystic Arts Center (MAC) will be introducing new craft and DIY (“do it yourself”) classes for adults and teens.

The DIY classes are inspired by the current trend for homemade products and gifts brought on by the popular website “Pinterest”. MAC will be offering three DIY workshops this summer; soap-making and homemade body products, taught by Brenda de los Santos, and stained glass making, taught by Rebecca Grills, a new addition to the MAC faculty.

Brenda de los Santos is a local photographer who also creates homemade body products like soap, lip balm, sugar scrub, bug spray and lotion. Mystic native Rebecca Grills is the creator of the famous frozen pizza, “Mystic Pizza”. After selling her pizza business in 2001, Rebecca has been working in stained glass. Her business, “Summer Glass” can be found online, or visit her studio along the Mystic River.

July 18, 10am to 2:30pm: Soap-making with Brenda de los Santos
August 9, 1pm to 4pm: DIY Body Products with Brenda de los Santos
August 15, 10am to 4pm: Stained Glass with Rebecca Grills
