New England Science & Sailing Foundation to Host 8th Annual Benefit Gala

Stonington, CT – New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) will hold its 8th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, November 5, 2016. This year's gala will highlight NESS's year-round ocean adventure educational programs for students in grades PreK-16 as well as honor all those who helped NESS serve more than 6,000 students throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island since last year. Funds raised at the gala will be used to support NESS's annual operating budget and provide scholarships to enable students to participate in NESS programs.

NESS President Spike Lobdell commented, "This year's Gala is all about the students we serve. Our programs are changing lives and positively impacting the educational system by getting kids out on the water, teaching them how to be curious about learning and the environment, and showing them they can do anything they put their minds to. Let's break our fundraising record of years past in order to provide even more opportunities to build brighter futures for our students in 2017." "It is all about the kids!"

The Gala will feature raffle prizes and paddle raises for scholarships, canvas (including sails, boat covers and sun protection), and naming opportunities on NESS's Stonington campus. The event will be catered Gourmet Galley and live music will be performed by The Savage Brothers Band of Hartford, Connecticut.

NESS's 8th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, November 5th will be held from 6-10pm at the Velvet Mill in Stonington, Connecticut. Tickets are $125 per person and include drinks and dinner.
