PLAYERS WANTED! Horses Healing Humans is holding an eXtreme Croquet Challenge on Sunday, May 15, from 1-5 pm at Horses Healing Humans, 340 New London Tpke in Stonington, followed by Dinner and Awards.100% of all donations to the Fun/Fund/Friend-Raiser event will support HHH Veterans Programs, Scholarship Fund, and N. Stonington Lions Club.  Limit 10 enthusiastic teams of 4.

Wikipedia states "Extreme Croquet is a variation on croquet mainly distinguished by its lack of any requirement pertaining to out-of-bounds or field specifications.[1] A close relative of the croquet played in most backyards and gardens, but expanded by more adventurous enthusiasts and played throughout the world in conditions unfamiliar to official tournament players. A typical extreme croquet game starts with location scouting, searching for terrain that might present interesting and novel challenges such as trees, roots, hills, sand, mud, or moving or still water. Play proceeds following the usual croquet rules, with alterations generally designed to handle circumstances not found in the garden game."

Traditional backyard croquet equipment can be used but is prone to damage. Mallets, made specifically for extreme croquet, are made from high density polyethylene, aluminum, polycarbonate and other durable materials. Also described as: "a Croquet/ Golf/ Billiards/ Bowling/ Lacrosse Hybrid,” “Croquet on steroids,” “Not your grandfather’s croquet,” “Roquet-balls for the bold and the boisterous, over impossible terrain with no safe shots” (among other less politically correct euphorisms).

Four hours of play (rain or shine, hail, sleet, snow or blistering heat). Equipment provided. A 21 + event.

Food and Beverages will be provided by North Stonington Lions Club to support Lions Charities. Team and Sponsor registrations due by May 1, 2016 for inclusion in/on media mentions.

Awesome Prizes will be awarded for: *Most Inspired Team Uniform *Can’t Hit the Side of a Barn (player demonstrating consistently poor shot execution)  *Malice Aforethought (player demonstrating most strategic pre-scheming) *Horse’s Arse (Just as it sounds) *Dung Chucker (Player executing most whiffs, fouls, and ill-advised shots) *Chalice of Malice (Overall winner in the Survivor Model of Outplay-Outwit-Outlast Mantra).

Horses Healing Humans Executive Director and North Stonington Lion Lee Paradis states " This should be a fun day of problem solving and risk-taking, geometry and physics, madness, malice, and mayhem, impossible shots and side-splitting laughter. Over an impossible course, it doesn't matter what your skill set is- the course always wins and luck reigns supreme! Great team costumes make it all the merrier. It promises to be an Alice-in-Wonderlandish wild and wacky take on the traditional golf tourney!"
