A Free Performance and Workshop at Three Rivers Community College
Monday, April 23, 2018, 1:30 p.m. performance, 3:45 p.m. workshop

Norwich, CT – Join us for a free performance of Othello by Shakespeare & Company, followed by a post-show forum and workshop. The event will be held at Three Rivers Community College on Monday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. in room F-117. It is free and open to the public. It is funded by the Three Rivers College Foundation, and the Student Performing Arts Group, and is part of the Booker T. DeVaughn lecture series.

Othello tells the tale of love, deception and jealousy, and this fully produced “Bare Bard” style of performance emphasizes Shakespeare’s language, dramatic action, and the vital relationship between the actors and the audience. The performance runs from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. and is followed by a 15-minute interactive post-show forum that engages the audience's insights and observations. After a brief break, there will be an actor-audience workshop that allows the audience to re-direct segments of the play.

Shakespeare & Company is one of the largest Shakespeare festivals in the country and is located in western Massachusetts in the heart of the Berkshires. It presents a vibrant summer performance season featuring the works of Shakespeare in repertory with classic and contemporary plays. The Company is also home to the internationally renowned Center for Actor Training and the award-winning and nationally recognized Theatre-in-Education program.
