Tamarack Lodge Partners with On The Spot Catering

On The Spot Catering has found a new home at the historic Tamarack Lodge in Voluntown, Connecticut. The experienced family catering company will be moving their center of operations to the rustic lodge and glamping resort, and partnering with Tamarack owners John and Valoree Longo on food and beverage service in the restaurant. This partnership allows owners John and Valoree Longo to focus on continuing the renovation and restoration of the property.

The Longos purchased the abandoned property less than two years ago with the vision of restoring Tamarack to its former glory. It was originally a wagon wheel mill turned family resort in 1947. Under the Longo’s care, the lodge has been transformed into an events venue, restaurant and indie glamping resort. The 28-acre estate offers unique opportunities for weddings and events that range from intimate 20-person ceremonies to 200-person receptions under the tent and even weekend-long wedding soirees with fire pits and glamping. 
On The Spot Catering has been specializing in weddings and special events for 11 years, operating solely out of their custom built mobile kitchen.  The company flourished by using high quality and local ingredients,  cooking everything from scratch and by providing outstanding  professional service. Propelled by his love of food, Executive Chef John Giacchi creates unique intimate experiences for his clients and his guests. With over fifteen years of event planning experience from gala's to golf tournaments, corporate events to weddings, Event Director Stacy Giacchi Herr is confident and comfortable managing all aspects of the event world. The father and daughter team are looking forward to taking on the food and beverage operation at the family resort.

Valoree Longo agrees that it is a perfect match. “The partnership with On The Spot was a great encounter and will let me and John focus on growing and expanding Tamarack Lodge by getting out of the kitchen. There are many other aspects that we are excited to bring to fruition” she explained.
