Norwich, CT – The Arc New London County was awarded a grant under the Federal Transit Administration’s Section 5310 program for FY 2016/17: “Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities.” The Arc New London County Receives Grant for Wheelchair Van
Administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and with assistance from the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (SCCOG), the grant is designed to help non-profits address the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled for whom public transportation is either unavailable or not an option. The Arc NLC will be receiving a 9-seat lift van with 2 wheelchair positions, which will replace an aging vehicle and provide extra wheelchair space.
