The Lofts at Ponemah Mills Receives Certificate of Occupancy

Historic mill apartment complex ready to welcome residents

Taftville, CT – OneKey, LLC, the construction management team for The Lofts at Ponemah Mills, is pleased to announce the official receipt of a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) from the building inspector of the City of Norwich.  As of Friday, November 17, phase one of this 313,000 sq. ft. apartment complex welcomes residents to begin immediate occupancy.

“We could not be more pleased that we received our CO at a time that allows our incoming residents to celebrate the Holidays or to start the New Year in their new homes,” shares Finbar O’Neill, director of operations for OneKey, LLC. “We are bringing online a unique housing solution that pairs history with modern amenities. Every detail has been considered and we look forward to meeting the needs of every generation of residents.”

Located on the banks of the Shetucket River in the history-rich, Taftville section of Norwich, Connecticut, the New Jersey-based developer, OneKey, LLC, has completed the project’s initial, $30 million phase, with additional development of phase two commencing in early Spring of the new year.

The historic mill, once a deserted reminder of the industrial era, has been completely renovated to offer an initial 116 modern one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes with original ceilings — in some cases up to 22 feet high. At the completion of the other two phases, 237 apartments will be available.

Starting at $889/month, each apartment offers in-unit washer/dryer, climate control and central air, beams and other original architectural details as well as soaring ceilings and generous natural light. The developer’s preservation of the Mill’s original structure makes each of these units uniquely stunning and unprecedented in the region.

Community amenities include a fitness center complete with sauna and steam room, a pet area (dogs under 40 pounds welcome), 15-seat theater, game room, social gathering space, courtyard, and an outdoor grilling area with a fire pit. Other features including a business center, tower library, Mill museum, on-site management, maintenance and free parking make this modern complex perfect for budding families, single residents and retirees alike. Moments off I395, and near the resurging Chelsea District of downtown Norwich, the Lofts are surrounded by entertainment, dining, shopping and recreational options.

Certificate of occupancy is expected to escalate the already active incoming resident process, and those interested in beginning the application process/taking a tour are encouraged to contact the leasing office, managed by the respected Simon Konover Property Management team, today at 860.491.8456 or www.ponemahmills.com.
