UCFS Awarded CHEFA Grant to Equip New Griswold Health Center

UCFS is proud to announce we have been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) to equip 8 medical treatment rooms and a laboratory.  UCFS was one of 19 applicants selected this year to receive a grant from CHEFA out of 40 applications they received in the areas of healthcare, education, culture, and childcare. CHEFA has been an ongoing supporter of UCFS’ mission and this latest award will go a long way to meeting our funding needs for the new Griswold Health Center.

Griswold is severely underserved by providers who accept Medicaid. Demand for our services has expanded by 157% since the Health Center opened in 2009. The new Health Center is replacing and expanding services we now offer in an outgrown space that includes 4 medical treatment rooms along with behavioral and oral health services and is slated to open July 16th.
