UCFS awarded grant from the Community Foundation of Eastern CT

Colchester - United Community and Family Services (UCFS) is proud to announce we have been awarded a $14,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Eastern CT  to support our Access to Care and Case Management programs, which provide insurance enrollment assistance and linkages to health and human services for the UCFS client population and the community. These staff members are on the front lines, meeting with clients and putting them in touch with necessary social supports such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and local agencies who supply clothing, basic needs, energy assistance, child care and housing. They also refers clients who need a medical or dental home to an appropriate provider, including UCFS.

UCFS is a community health organization that provides quality medical, dental, behavioral health, and eldercare services to over 19,000 patients each year. Care is provided regardless of insurance coverage or a person’s ability to pay. Unlike hospital emergency rooms or walk-in clinics, UCFS offers a health care home where clients receive affordable, high quality, medical, dental and behavioral health services from specialized staff at convenient locations across eastern Connecticut.

Since 1877, UCFS has strived to meet the ever-changing health and human service needs of the community. In addition to providing health services, UCFS aims to eliminate barriers to care by assisting with insurance needs and providing support for basic needs, such as stable housing or food security.
