Use Google's Translation Services to View Chamber's Website in the Language of Your Choice

Eastern CT – For whose first language is not English, the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT has improved its website ChamberECT.com to make it easier for non-native English speakers to use.

Chamber staff have added Google translate functionality to many pages on ChamberECT.com, starting with the Immigrant Resource Center page. This feature makes it possible for website text to be automatically translated between any of the supported languages provided by Google's translation services. This effort by the Chamber greatly increases immigrant entrepreneurs' abilities to succeed when doing business in our region.

"Eastern Connecticut’s business community is changing,” said Tony Sheridan, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. “Facts show that close to fourteen percent of Connecticut’s residents are foreign-born. Nearly one fifth of all the businesses in the state are owned by immigrants. Thanks to today’s technologies, language barriers are no longer an obstacle. The Chamber is available to assist those who are eager to start or expand their business in eastern Connecticut."
