Chamber Perspectives: Amanda Ljubicic on Regional Partnerships

I’m Amanda Ljubicic (Loo-bih-chick), Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. I have been with the Chamber for nearly 7 months, and I’m thrilled to work for an organization that serves the community in which I grew up and am now raising my own family.

My husband works for Pfizer and operates his own small business, Ace Overhead Doors, LLC, out of our home in Mystic. Our three bright and energetic children are 6, 4, and 2 years old. They bring us great joy (and challenge too, of course) and we are very fortunate to have extended family in the area to help us manage our constantly competing priorities. We love living in a region that provides great schools, growing business opportunities, and top-notch attractions for family fun!

My primary role at the Chamber is oversight of the organization’s operations. I work closely with the Chamber staff to analyze our events, programs and services; always looking for ways in which we can increase services, improve the member experience, or free up resources for a new idea. Together, we welcome your input about how the Chamber can best support your business’s growth and success. In fact, keep a look out for a new member feedback survey coming soon!

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT has a regional focus, representing both New London and Windham Counties. As such, I also manage region-wide partnerships and programs, like Community Concierge – which welcomes newcomers to our region and helps eastern CT businesses recruit and retain talent.

I’m a strong supporter of regional collaboration, while recognizing the distinct local flavor of our individual cities and towns. I’m passionate about reducing redundancy, and I look for opportunities to work with both regionally-focused and more locally-focused organizations – other Chambers of Commerce, industry-specific organizations, business resource centers, etc. You’ll see this passion reflected in our changing Division Program, which over the next 6-8 months, will partner with local groups to plan and promote local events.

I look forward to seeing you at our next Business After Hours, YPsocial, or Community Concierge “Let’s Go Local” event! Don’t be shy – tell me your name, and I’ll pronounce mine!
