The Avery-Copp House is located on the Thames River in the Groton Bank National Register Historic District. Built in colonial style in the early 1800s and Victorianized at the turn of the century, the museum tells the story of 200 years of family life. Furnishings are original and provide a time capsule view into generations of travel and daily living. Two Victorian gazebos sit above the house on terraced lawns. The public is welcome to enjoy the grounds. Special events take place year-round and the house is open Friday through Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend and by appointment off season.
