Avery-Copp House Museum Offers 'Herbs for Health and Heart - Part 2' Nov 13

Avery-Copp House Museum Director Leslie Evans will offer the second part of the program on Herbs for Hearth and Health Sunday, November 13 from 2 PM to 4 PM. The program will be held in the historic kitchen of the Avery-Copp House at 154 Thames St. in Groton, and will include how to make seasonal skin care products and a traditional remedy for coughs and colds.  Participants will be able to take their handcrafts home. Ingredients, recipes and a list of resources will be provided. Tea and treats will be served after the class.
 
Evans has lectured extensively on the topics of domestic life in 18th & 19th century New England, concentrating on food history, open hearth cooking, herbs and heirloom gardening. Her experience includes the design and planting of the herb and heirloom vegetable gardens at the Nathan Hale Homestead in Coventry.
