Center for Hospice Care Announces New Bereavement Support Group

Norwich, CT – Center for Hospice Care in Norwich would like to announce the start of a new bereavement support group for those who are Grieving the Loss of a Loved One Due to Addiction. Center for Hospice Care will be teaming up with Norwich Youth and Family Services to provide the facilitator, Angela Rae Duhaime, M.A. The group will meet at Center for Hospice Care Administrative Offices and Community Bereavement Center at 227 Dunham Street and be offered free of charge, but pre-registration is required. It is expected to meet once a month with a start date of Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
Ms. Duhaime has a strong background in working with substance abuse and addiction issues in the community and is currently a coordinator for Partnerships for Success in the city of Norwich. Ms. Duhaime is an adjunct professor of psychology at Eastern Connecticut State University and Quinebaug Valley Community College.  She also works per diem at Life Happens, LLC providing substance abuse counseling and has over 10 years’ experience in community education and prevention. She is also an experienced community educator, providing staff trainings to those agencies who work with clients affected by addictions.
 
Center for Hospice Care offers our Bereavement Programs to anyone in the community who needs them, free of charge, regardless of whether their loved one was cared for on our hospice program.    Our bereavement programs work directly with family members, including children, who are grieving a variety of different losses.
