Channel 3 Kids Camp Announces New Board Appointments

Channel 3 Kids Camp recently appointed five new members to their Board of Directors – Samuel Broomer, Ed Havens Jr., Joseph Rubio, Glenn Salamone, and Danita Sulick.

Samuel Broomer is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Berkley Re, a Berkley Company. Along with his strong business background, Broomer brings a strong belief that “Everyone Counts, Everyone Matters.”

Ed Havens Jr. is the co-owner of Imperial Oil in South Windsor, CT. Haven’s family has a long history with Channel 3 Kids Camp. Havens says, “I wish to maintain my relationship with the camp, my father’s relationship as a former camper and current board member, my son’s involvement as a former camper and Counselor-in-Training.”

Glenn Salamone is the Managing Member and Founder of QSR Steel Corporation located in Hartford. Salamone enjoys taking an active role in the community. He is also the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus St. Peter Council in Higganum.

Joseph Rubio is the General Manager of E-J Electric T&D in Wallingford. In addition to sitting on the board of Channel 3 Kids Camp, Joe is a committee member for the Big Brother Big Sisters of Connecticut.

Danita Sulick owns Mulberry Street Restaurant in Manchester along with her husband. Danita has a strong history of community non-profit involvement with strong roles in organizations such as MARC inc, Manchester Road Race, Rebuilding Together and more. Sulik says, “I am honored to give back to the community that has given me so much.”

Channel 3 Kids Camp believes that ALL children deserve a Kids Camp experience. Its mission is to provide fun year-round opportunities to children of all abilities, families, and communities through educational and recreational programs that promote diversity, acceptance, and environmental appreciation.

The nonprofit organization provides opportunities through traditional overnight and day camp summer programs, a year round teen leadership program, weekend group rentals, respite weekends, and a year-round child care center.
