Norwich, CT – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has awarded $2,000 to The Arc NLC’s Employment Transition Center (ETC) which provides individual and group supported employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Southeastern Connecticut. The grant will help The Arc expand its existing Aquaponics program by adding vertical growing walls to maximize existing space and significantly increase the production of specialty greens and herbs available at The Arc’s Farm Stand. Expansion of the facility will provide additional employment positions for Arc participants interested in this type of agriculture, and help them develop marketable skills as they transition to permanent jobs in their communities.
