Charter Oak Presents $2,500 to the Brian T. Dagle Memorial Foundation

Waterford, CT – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union awarded $2,500 to the Brian T. Dagle Memorial Foundation on Friday, July 24th.

The Brian T. Dagle Memorial Foundation promotes hope and healing for people who are grieving the loss of someone special or struggling with the challenges of life by providing support services, education, and resources to nurture both their physical and emotional needs.  The foundation also strives to educate people on suicide prevention and promotes awareness of suicide risk factors and warning signs.

Ann and Paul Dagle, along with their two sons, established the foundation as a way to reach out to those grieving the loss of a child or loved one after the Dagles lost their son, Brian Dagle, to suicide. The foundation will be celebrating its one-year anniversary this August and has impacted thousands of people in Southeastern Connecticut through its grief support groups, suicide prevention community forums, and community activities.

“Charter Oak takes pride in helping local organizations who also strive to make Eastern Connecticut a better place,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The resources provided by this foundation have helped comfort those grieving within our community, and will hopefully continue to serve as a safe haven or resource center for those struggling with thoughts of suicide.”
