Charter Oak Promotes Four Employees

Waterford, CT ­– Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has announced the promotion of four employees, including a new Vice President of its Deposit Operations/Electronic Services Department and a new Vice President of its Loan Servicing Department.

Waltnita Brown has been promoted to Vice President-Deposit Operations/Electronic Services and Thomas Maher has been promoted to Vice President-Loan Servicing. In addition, Shaun Formica has been promoted to Community Relations Manager and Dawn Sandvoss has been promoted to Commercial Credit Manager.

“All four of these individuals are hard-working professionals who’ve been instrumental in the many achievements of their departments,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We appreciate their commitment and dedication to Charter Oak, and each continues to play an important role in the success of our credit union,” he said.
  
Waltnita Brown has worked for Charter Oak since September 1985. She began her management career in March 1993 as the Supervisor of the credit union’s Chicago Avenue Branch in Groton City and also served as the manager of the Call Center and Records and Research group. In 2001, Brown transitioned to the credit union’s Information Technology Department as a research and data coordinator and in August 2012 became the Electronic Banking Manager. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Vice President of Deposit Operations/Electronic Services. Brown is a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick with a degree in Business Administration.
  
Thomas Maher began his career with Charter Oak in 2007 as a Centralized Lending Manager. In January 2011, Maher was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Quality Control, which is now known as Loan Servicing. Maher is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden with a degree in Business Administration.
     
Shaun Formica joined Charter Oak in April 2012 as Public Relations Coordinator and assumed additional supervisory duties in July 2014. She is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven with a degree in Business Administration/Management and Marketing.
  
Dawn Sandvoss joined Charter Oak in August 2013 as a Senior Business Credit Analyst. In addition to her credit analyst duties, she will supervise Charter Oak’s team of Junior Credit Analysts. Sandvoss is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic with a degree in Business/Sociology.
