Chelsea Groton Bank Promotes Carolyn Welch to SVP, Commercial Lending Manager

Groton, CT – Chelsea Groton Bank’s Carolyn Welch has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Manager. In this role, she will lead the Bank’s Commercial Lending team in attracting, developing, and growing commercial relationships throughout the Bank’s expanding market area.
 
“In Carolyn’s relatively short time with Chelsea Groton Bank, she has performed extremely well, developing new business for the Bank in the greater Hartford and New Haven counties, as well as in New London County,” said Tony Joyce, Executive Vice President, Senior Loan Officer at Chelsea Groton Bank. “She will now be in a position to help others on the Commercial team to aggregate business relationships in a similar way. Her prior experience as a Commercial Lending team leader will serve her well in this new capacity.”
 
Since joining the Bank in 2016 as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, Carolyn has continued to develop relationships with businesses of various sizes and types, as well as legal and accounting professionals throughout the state.  In 2017, she closed over $21 million in commercial loans.
 
Prior to attending Niagara University, Carolyn graduated from Niagara County Community College with an AAS in Business Administration. Carolyn is a graduate of Leadership Niagara. She has also completed several courses at the American Institute of Banking, and advanced courses in leadership, commercial credit and investment training throughout her career. 
 
Carolyn is on the Board of Directors for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF) and Community Investment Development Corporation (CIDC).  Carolyn is also a member of the President’s Advisory Council for MARC. She resides in Wallingford, CT with her husband Kevin and daughter, Jamie.
