Chelsea Groton Bank to Match Heritage Park Season Pass Sales

New London, CT – The Thames River Heritage Park water taxi season passes are now available for purchase at ThamesRiveHeritagePark.org. For a limited time Chelsea Groton Bank will donate $20 to the Park for every season pass sold up to $1,000.  The season pass is an extraordinary deal. Now in its second season the water taxis will begin operation Friday, May 26, 2017.  The service connects Fort Trumbull in New London to the downtown New London Historic Waterfront District and Fort Griswold in Groton, and runs Friday through Sunday from 10 AM to 9 PM. until September 17, 2017 .
The Thames River Heritage Park is a collection of national and historic sites along two shores of the Thames River that tell the stories that shaped our nation during the past 400 years. In 2016 almost 2,000 people rode the water taxi visiting sites, dining out or just enjoying time on the water.
 
Ticket prices remain the same as last year: Adults: $10, Children ages 4 -12 and Active Military: $5. Children 3 and under: free. It is a hop on-hop off ride in which visitors can board the boat at any of the three landings and can tour at their leisure.
 
Heritage sites within easy walking distance of the water taxi stops include, in Groton, the Avery-Copp House, the Ebenezer Avery Homestead, Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park and the Subvets World War II National Memorial East and, in New London, in addition to Fort Trumbull are the Nathan Hale Schoolhouse, the Custom House Maritime Museum, the Shaw Mansion and the Hempsted Houses.
