New London, CT – The Coast Guard Academy wrestling team which sent a record four cadet-athletes to the NCAA Division III Championships last season with two earning All-America honors are tied for 11thnationally in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Preseason Rankings.

The Bears are the second highest team ranked from New England as Johnson & Wales was third.

Senior Nick Remke, who earned All-America honors last season with a fifth place finish at 165 pounds, is ranked second nationally at 165 entering the season.

Sophomore Jon Wagner and junior AJ Aeberli, who both competed at the NCAA Championships last season, are also nationally ranked entering the season. Wagner is ranked seventh at 197 pounds while Aeberli is ranked 10th at 174 pounds.

The Bears open the season on Nov. 17th at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College.
