Norwich, CT – The Arc New London County was awarded $3,235, raised by Comcast/NBCUniversal employees as part of last Spring’s national Comcast Cares Day. The Arc had been selected as the regional site for the annual event, in which Comcast employees volunteer at a non-profit agency and complete a variety of projects. Comcast purchased materials and supplied volunteers, who worked with the Arc’s 15 participant volunteers to paint interior walls and plant gardens around the Sachem Street facility in Norwich. The Arc New London County is a 64-year-old local nonprofit agency that provides individualized supports, services and advocacy to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help facilitate their full participation and inclusion in the communities of Southeastern Connecticut.
