Dime Bank Launches DimePerks

 
Eastern CT and Westerly, RI – Buy local, shop local, save local. That’s the idea behind DimePerks, a new line of checking accounts now offered by Dime Bank.
 
The first rewards-based checking account program in eastern Connecticut and the Westerly region, DimePerks combines checking accounts with an interactive smart phone app/website. Through geo-location technology, Dime account holders have access to thousands of exclusive rewards from participating merchants, including their favorite local restaurants and storefronts, as well as national brands.
 
“We are very excited to join the DimePerks program as a local merchant,” shares Olivia Formica, managing chef of Flanders Fish Market in East Lyme, Connecticut. “We can customize our offers based on what's available at the market and the weather conditions. Today it might be a special on hot chowder, tomorrow chilled shrimp.”

The idea behind this rewards program is simple: shop locally—save locally. The DimePerks program will give account holders unique discounts, by providing daily deals and recommendations of nearby merchants. In turn, customers click which deals they wish to get and present them at desired time of use.
