Lyme Academy of Fine Arts Invites you to Join Us for the First Annual Holiday Enchantment and Tree Lighting!
Saturday, December 4, 2021 (1pm - 5pm)
Make magical memories at the First Annual Holiday Enchantment and Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Adults and children are invited to gather on the campus of the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts on Lyme Street from 1 - 5 pm for an afternoon of festive outdoor activities including art demonstrations, live musical performances, food, and drinks by the fire, ornament, and luminary making guided by Lyme Academy artists, cookie decorating, and more.
In the holiday spirit of this community event, several area organizations will be contributing to the activities offered. The Florence Griswold Museum will be distributing artistic take and make kits, the Duck River Garden Club will have a Tussie Mussies station, Pollinator Pathways will have medallions for sale, Parje will offer mini mural and coloring pages, and ballet dancers from Eastern CT Ballet will be available to take Nutcracker photos with. Other organizations participating in the event include Barn for Artistic Youth, Food Share Garden, The Lions’ Club, Old Lyme Fire Department, Lyme/Old Lyme EMS, Old Lyme Land Trust, Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library, Roger Tory Peterson Estuary, and more. All artistic activities will take place from 1-4 pm.
A s’mores galore station with coffee and hot cocoa will be available for all to enjoy. Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase food and drinks to warm up and enjoy at the firepit. A bar area for adults will have mulled wine, beer, wine, and craft cocktails available for purchase.
Nightingale's MusicNow Showcase will begin the event with live music from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm, followed by a holiday performance by the Old Lyme Middle School Band from 2:30 - 3:00 pm. At 4:00 pm, the evening will move to the tree lighting as the Old Lyme Band orchestrates the crowd into singing Christmas Carols and Hymns. The Town Selectman, Tim Griswold will guide the lighting of the artistically adorned Holiday tree to close the evening.
Admission is free, donations are welcome.
