The Arc Eastern Connecticut received a $2,303 grant from Charter Oak Federal Credit Union’s Community Giving Program to develop an iPad Lending Library for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live alone and who during the pandemic might otherwise remain isolated. “This lending library represents a unique opportunity to make sure that our most vulnerable citizens remain connected during what is a confusing and frightening time for everyone,” said Laurie Herring, The Arc’s Chief Operations Officer. “This project would not have been able to go forward without Charter Oak’s assistance.”
iPads and charging stations will be maintained by The Arc ECT to ensure that users are always able to easily connect to social services, medical providers, family and friends, as well as their Arc staff.
