Higher Edge Executive Director to Resign

Higher Edge, Inc. has announced that Theresa M. Armendarez will be resigning as executive director, effective June 25, 2021. She is relocating out-of-state where her husband has accepted a new position. To ensure a successful transition for students, partners and supporters, she will step down once her successor has been named. The board of directors will begin its search in February.
Armendarez has served as executive director since June 2018. She is credited with helping to strengthen the nonprofit’s financial position, improving and stabilizing operations and organizational processes, and building new important strategic partnerships with complimentary partners, among other accomplishments.
“It has been an honor to lead such a wonderful organization,” she said. “Working with an outstanding board of directors, an amazing and expert staff, and the vibrant community of partners has been a real pleasure. I am thankful to the board of directors for the opportunity and look forward to watching Higher Edge’s continued success.”
Higher Edge’s board president, Kristi D. Kelly, said, “Theresa leaves Higher Edge in a strong position for continued growth, and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership in her time here. The board wishes her the best of luck and opportunities in her future endeavors.”
