LH Works: New Regional Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities

Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Light House is pleased to announce the launch of LH Works: an employment training program that provides individualized levels of support to young adults with diverse abilities. The goal? 100% competitive employment.
 
The current unemployment rate for individuals with developmental disabilities is between 89% and 95%. In an effort to improve this statistic, LH Works uses a customized, holistic approach to prepare Job Seekers to excel in securing competitive, year-round employment at the same wage as their peers.

Program Highlights

• Employment Specialists that provide job training and mentorship toward achieving social, personal, and independent living goals.
• Training in three vocational tracks allowing Job Seekers to match their skills and interests with the true needs of our community's employers.
• Onsite training at our 32-acre commercial facility prior to applying learned skills to real-life scenarios at community-based job sites.
• Connections with over 25 community partner organizations and employers.
